SUMMARY:Cycling Event: Junior Tour
DESCRIPTION:Castlemaine Cycling Club in conjunction with Cycling Victoria will hold a Junior Tour based in the ANA Hall in Harcourt on 27th and 28th July.\nNo road closures\, but some reduction in speed limits on the courses for the duration of racing. \nRacing will commence 9 am Saturday with a Time Trial.\nCyclists will travel south on Harmony Way to a “U” turn and return to the finish line in Harcourt and Saturday afternoon will see racing\, north and south of Harcourt on Harmony Way. \nThe tour will finish on Sunday morning when cyclists take on the tough 12km course of Market St\, Reservoir Rd\, McIvor Rd and Harmony Way\, while others travel the distance north on Harmony Way to a turnaround point near the freeway before turning onto the 12 km circuit. \nCyclists and their families will travel from across Victoria to compete in these selection races\, for the Victorian State Junior Team\, to compete in the National Championships on the Gold Coast in September. Many of the big name Victorian cyclists of today have gained very valuable experience in these junior tours\, and this 3 Stage tour will cater for riders in Under 11\, 13\, 15 and 17.

DESCRIPTION:Prior to the service\, from around 2.30pm\, afternoon tea will be served at the ANA Hall\, 7 High Street\, Harcourt. There\, we welcome guest speaker Ron Lister. Shortly before 3.30pm\, we will proceed from the ANA Hall to the Stanley Park war memorial. \nAt the Stanley Park war memorial\, the Anzac Day Service will commence with wreath-laying at 3.30 pm.\nFeel free to bring a private wreath\, or a sheaf of garden/native flowers. \nYour attendance would be gratefully appreciated.

SUMMARY:Apple Harvest
DESCRIPTION:Blossoms of spring lead in to busy picking time. Picking is done by hand using ladder and picking bags. From there\, they’re collected into wooden containers. When filled\, the containers are towed by tractor to a coolstore\, where a controlled atmosphere keeps our apples fresh and crisp for great eating. \nKeep an eye out for orchard vehicles on the local roads. Ask for new season fruit at your local fruiterer. \nWhere and when to buy Harcourt apples? \nNew season apples are available about the time of Harcourt Applefest\, in March of each year. \nAround Harcourt\, roadside shops get their apple supplies straight from the orchards.\nAt the Melbourne Wholesale Market\, our apples are available all year round.

DESCRIPTION:Let’s get together at the Goldfields Track Cafe to celebrate a grand year.  \nThere is much to be proud of: improved town centre landscaping; another successful Applefest; another fun Easter Egg Hunt; an upgrade to the town entrance; the restoration of the Harcourt railway station; and progress towards a Community Playground. All that and we’re also excited to support the miniature railway park and the long awaited Mountain Bike Park.  \nThis is a social get together with drinks at bar prices from 6pm.  \nIn the the midst of the fun\, the Harcourt Progress Association will host a quick AGM at 7pm. During the AGM\, the HPA will report on activity and priorities\, and elect/re-elect members of the Steering Committee to guide the group in 2018.
