Near the peak of Mt Alexander, huge, picturesque granite outcrops may be found just a short distance from Joseph Young Drive. Here, Dog Rocks has become a favourite spot for abseiling and a popular stopover landmark for bush walks.
Named in 1846 by Lockhart Morton, manager of Sutton Grange station, as dingos were then to be found there in great numbers.
