SPORTS & RECREATION

Barkers Creek Cricket Club has been in existence since 1855, one of the oldest cricket clubs in Victoria, playing on their quirky and picturesque ground in Specimen Gully Road. The club enjoys a reciprocal relationship with the Cricket Club of India. Spetators and new players always welcome. Home to a number of Harcourt’s sporting clubs, including footy, netball, cricket and tennis, the Harcourt Recreation Reserve is an old-fashioned community hub.
Facilities a footy ground, a cricket pitch and practice nets, tennis courts and a playground.
The indoor Leisure Centre on the site is available for seasonal sports and casual hire.

AMENITIES

ana.hall-smallThe ANA Hall has stood in the centre of Harcourt for more than a century. It is named for the Australian Natives Associations—a nationalistic movement that provided insurances to men born in Australia and which was pivotal in the movement for Australian federation at the beginning of the twentieth century.

These days, the ANA Hall contains several distinct areas:

  1. Museum—displaying historical items relating to Harcourt people and industries
  2. Extensive data base of historical significance
  3. Commodious meeting rooms.
